CGC does not buy or sell collectibles and does not have a financial interest in the collectibles that it certifies. In fact, CGC employees are prohibited from buying and selling certified collectibles commercially.

To provide complete confidentiality for all parties, CGC will discuss the details of each submission only with the original submitter. CGC will not release any information concerning the identity of the original submitter without permission. As part of CGC's internal processes, complete anonymity is also ensured by a system of checks and balances. Invoices are numerically barcoded upon receipt by our receiving team. Graders do not have any computer access to submitter information.

CGC offers the following guarantees, which provide collectors with greater security and confidence: CGC guarantees that CGC-certified collectibles are authentic and that CGC holders are free of defects deemed to be distracting, significant, or otherwise outside of normal tolerances, according to CGC's good faith determination.

Important note: Because of the fragile nature of most paper collectibles, the grade is not guaranteed other than for cards. For TCGs, sports cards, and non-sports cards only, both authenticity and grade are guaranteed. Read the full CGC Guarantee here.

No. CGC is an impartial third-party grading company and does not provide an appraisal or evaluation of a collectible's worth. Good resources for determining the value of your collectible is completed eBay auctions and the posted prices of large dealers and auction houses.

Yes, CGC attends many major trade shows, comic cons, and other public events throughout the year. At these shows, CGC's customer service team is available to take submissions and answer your questions. At some shows, CGC offers on-site grading. With on-site grading, CGC's expert and impartial authentication, grading, and encapsulation services are offered on location with an extremely fast turnaround time.
