Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) is excited to introduce collectors to the all-new CGC Magazines holder! The redesigned and optimized state-of-the-art holder is sturdier than our original magazine holder, with crystal-clear optics for a vibrant display. The label area has been enhanced as well, with fully encased labels just like our esteemed comic book holders.
The new magazine holder also offers advanced security features, such as a heat-sealed hologram. The sturdier outer plastic better resists impacts, and precise pressure locks the magazine in place for enhanced protection and a superior way to preserve magazines.
The original CGC magazine holder was in use since 2003, when the company first introduced grading and encapsulation services for magazines, such as Sports Illustrated and Playboy, as well as oversized comics. Because of changing technologies, the original holder could no longer be produced, and CGC used this opportunity to improve upon the holder.
According to CGC President, Matt Nelson: “Our magazine holders have always provided excellent protection with a vibrant display, but good isn’t good enough for us. When we found that production of the original holder was no longer supported by current technology, we wanted to push even further to create the most advanced magazine holder on the market. Our new magazine holder is even stronger than before, and now we’ve encased the label to keep your graded magazine looking its very best. We are really excited for collectors to get their hands on our new holder and feel the difference for themselves!”
Magazine submissions were held by CGC during the transition to the new holder. Those submissions have now begun shipping back to collectors.
