CGC-graded Amazing Fantasy #15 Leads ComicLink Offerings

The first appearance of Spider-Man is among the CGC-certified comics already in the six figures in a ComicLink auction closing on March 1-8.

Many Marvel must-haves that are graded by Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) — such as the first appearances of the Fantastic Four, Captain America, Hulk and more — are being offered in ComicLink’s Winter Featured Auction on March 1-8, 2023. But it’s the first appearance of one wall-crawler that has bidders perhaps the most excited.

Bidding has already reached $250,000 several days before the day for an Amazing Fantasy #15 graded CGC 8.0. The book features the first appearance of Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962. After his immediate success in Amazing Fantasy #15, Marvel rushed Spider-Man into his own monthly series, and he has become one of the most recognizable superheroes of all time. Amazing Fantasy #15 is in the top tier of comic book grails; an example graded CGC 9.6 sold for $3.6 million in 2021, the second-highest amount for any comic book.
