Yet another record has been achieved by a CGC-certified card! A Jigglypuff, Pokémon (1996) Japanese CoroCoro Comic Promo Glossy graded CGC Gem Mint 10 recently sold for $550,000 in a private sale through Goldin. The result smashed the record for this card and set a brand-new record for any Jigglypuff card in the entire Pokémon TCG.

In October 1996, CoroCoro Comic gave away two Japanese Pokémon cards as promos for the upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game that would be released soon after in Japan. One of these cards is the famous "Ivy" Pikachu, and the other was the Jigglypuff shown above. This Jigglypuff promo is exceptionally rare — though nearly a million of these promos were given away in the October issue of CoroCoro Comic magazine, very few survive in such pristine condition due to their age and a lack of proper card storage in the 1990s and early 2000s. CGC has certified 294 examples of this Jigglypuff promo, according to the CGC Cards Population Report. This is the only example graded CGC Gem Mint 10, with none graded higher.
